   What raw actually means

   Raw feeding is muscle meat, raw edible bone and organ in rough proportion, about eighty, ten and ten, fed instead of cooked food, not alongside it.

   What it asks of you

   Raw is not a shortcut: it needs freezer space, cold-chain discipline and a deliberate plan for calcium, or a growing dog grows on a diet that is short of it.

   Handle it as raw meat

   The bacteria raw food carries is a risk to your household as much as to your dog, so treat the bowl, the board and your hands the way you would after raw chicken.

   Never a cooked bone

   Raw bone flexes and cooked bone splinters, the most common emergency in raw feeding is a cooked bone that somebody meant kindly.
